Hewlett Packard Enterprise – Software Engineer – August 2015 to present
- Provide design, development, and leadership on OpenStack frontend and Java- script projects.
- Achieved core developer status on the OpenStack eslint-config-openstack, ironic- webclient, and ironic-ui projects within 6 months of initial contributions.
- Lead developer and project manager on the OpenStack Ironic UI project, which enables OpenStack operators to manage bare-metal instances using the OpenStack Horizon project.
- Coordinate, negotiate, and balance the needs and requirements of multiple large corporate stakeholders in the OpenStack Ironic UI project.
- Become a key decision maker with regard to the eslint rule configuration and standardising that across the entirety of OpenStack.
- Identified key UX areas of improvement in the Storyboard project and pro-actively addressed those issues by suggesting solutions and developing them forward.
Zone – Front End Web Developer – March 2015 to August 2015
- Adapted the Bass grid system developed for Worthers Ltd for use within the Zone frontend components library.
- Developed multiple JavaScript and Sass plugins for their front end components li- brary that enabled faster development time and helped to prevent code duplication across the agency.
- Communicated clearly and frequently with stakeholders in multiple departments across the organisation.
Worthers Ltd – Front End Web Developer – June 2012 to March 2015
- Developed ‘Bass’ – a front end framework and grid system used by staff at Worthers.
- Developed ‘Vanilla’ – a back end framework that allows for fast database development for specific custom features in new sites, for example a resources section.
- Developed the front end of the soon to be launched Worthers CMS, Vexillum.
- Was awarded the first Worthers ‘Team Player of the Year’ award in 2013.
- Performed SEO consulting for customer websites.
- Provided CSS and HTML training to new staff.
Youth with a Mission (YWAM) Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa – Youth and Children’s Coordinator – January 2009 to April 2013
- Managed a team of volunteering students that changed every 3 months aged between 18 and 57.
- Taught and provided activities, safety and education for between 5 and 200 children (depending on the time period).
- Learnt the local language, Afrikaans, to communicate with the children and the fami- lies.
Taught the children Maths, ICT, English and basic Afrikaans in both English and Afrikaans.
